TradeFair Group Acquires Platts' POWER Magazine

Houston, TX - March 1-- TradeFair Group announced today that it has purchased POWER magazine from Platts, a leading provider of energy information. POWER has been continuously published for 124 years and provides the global power generation engineering community with technical and business information. The acquisition includes the POWER website, the Powernews digital newsletter and other related properties and titles. Terms were not disclosed.

Houston based TradeFair Group is an integrated media company serving the energy industry with publications, tradeshows, and on-line services. Their annual ELECTRIC POWER Conference & Exhibition has served the power industry for eight years and attracts industry leaders from throughout the world. In 2005, TradeFair Group launched Coal Power magazine as a quarterly publication for power plants using coal to generate electricity. They also manage two power industry user groups; The PRB Coal Users' Group and the Combined Cycle Users' Group. Both groups hold their annual meetings during the ELECTRIC POWER event.

The addition of POWER magazine to the TradeFair Group portfolio strengthens their publishing division, while allowing greater service to its power industry clients. TradeFair Group President, Sean Guerre, stated "our objective is to be the primary source of information for the power generation industry - serving it with quality print, face-to-face and on-line properties".

The new Publisher of POWER magazine will be Brian Nessen, who recently joined TradeFair Group from Atlantic Communications. His entire career has been in energy publishing.
